Interior Design level 4 consists of competencies that an individual must achieve to construct residential and public buildings in an effective manner and save cost. It entails; applying design fundamentals, performing interior floor finishing, performing interior wall finishing, performing ceiling finishing and constructing interior soft furnishings. An Interior Designer plans, designs, and furnishes interiors of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. Therefore the Interior designer must understand civil engineering requirements, design and estimate various types of residential & commercial interiors with colour creative schemes. The Interior designer must be able to read and draw interior drawings using appropriate measuring instruments and know the sequence of operations, selects suitable materials as per design for formal and informal interiors with an aesthetic value. He / she must create designs to satisfy clients requirements and taste etc. showing style, shape, size and other characteristics or products.
It is envisaged that the trainee will have undergone a field training and assessment with a recognized interior design firm as a prerequisite for completion of this training course. At least 300 hours (8 weeks) should be spent on a supervised and assessed field attachment.

This unit introduces learners to the principles of color, including the color wheel, color harmony, and the psychological effects of different colors. Students learn how to select, combine, and apply colors effectively in design projects to create mood, balance, and visual impact.
Learners explore the core elements and principles of design such as line, shape, space, texture, balance, contrast, and emphasis. The unit builds a strong foundation for creative thinking and helps students understand how to develop functional and aesthetically appealing design compositions.
This unit trains students to create 3D models using various materials or digital tools. Modelling enhances spatial understanding and helps learners visualize design concepts, structures, and interior spaces accurately before execution.
Students gain skills in producing precise, scaled drawings used in construction and interior design. The unit covers plan views, elevations, sections, and detailed layouts, ensuring learners can communicate design ideas accurately to builders, clients, and contractors.
This unit covers materials, textures, and finishing techniques used in interior spaces. Learners study walls, floors, ceilings, fixtures, and fittings, gaining the ability to choose appropriate finishes that enhance functionality, durability, and aesthetics.
Students develop drawing skills that help them communicate ideas quickly and creatively. The unit focuses on sketching objects, spatial concepts, and design ideas with accuracy and artistic expression without the use of technical tools.
This course equips learners with practical skills that prepare them for entry-level roles in the interior design and construction industry.
Supports interior designers with sketches, material selection, mood boards, and project coordination.
Creates basic floor plans, layouts, and design sketches under the supervision of a senior designer.
Handles interior décor setup such as wall treatments, color matching, lighting placement, textiles, and accessories.
Assists in supervising interior works such as fittings, finishes, and quality control at construction or renovation sites.
Helps in designing, arranging, and selecting furniture pieces for interior spaces.
Works with fabrics, drapery, upholstery, and other soft furnishing installations.
Specializes in color application, color matching, and interior painting techniques.
Works in showrooms dealing with tiles, interior finishes, lighting, furniture, or décor items.
Assists in creating digital drawings (for colleges offering basic CAD exposure).
