The Interior Design Craftsmanship Qualification equips learners with the creative, technical, and entrepreneurial skills needed to design, plan, and execute interior spaces professionally. This program is competency-based and ensures graduates are ready for the industry.

Interior design Level 5 consists of competencies that an individual must achieve to interior designs residential and public buildings in effective manner and cost saving. It entails conceptualizing interior design, performing interior design drawings, performing interior design finishing, performing interior design soft furnishing and accessories, developing interior furniture and fittings, constructing building elements and components and applying design fundamentals.

  • Applying Fundamentals of Interior Design – principles, concepts, and design elements for functional and aesthetic interiors.

Interior Design craftsmanship qualification consists of competencies that an individual must achieve to enable him or her to provide interior design craft services. It involves: applying fundamentals of Interior Design; performing free-hand drawing; applying colour in interiors; performing interior design finishing; performing model making and producing technical drawing; applying digital literacy; applying communication skills; performing interior design soft furnishing; conceptualizing interior design; producing computer graphics; applying work ethics and practices; applying entrepreneurial skills; applying interior fittings and accessories; performing digital drafting and developing interior furniture and fixtures.

Entry Requirements

An individual entering this course should have any of the following minimum requirements:

  1. Attained KCSE with mean grade of D (plain)
  2. Artisan in interior Design
  3. Any other qualification as determined by KNQA

Examination Body

  • TVET CDACC (Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council)
    Learners will be assessed and certified under Kenya’s recognized CBET system, ensuring credibility and industry recognition.

Duration

  • 4 Terms (Competency-Based Training with continuous assessment and practical projects).

Career Progression

After successful completion of the course, trainees can join employment, consult, execute projects and venture in to business in the Interior Design industry. You will proceed to  Diploma level.
